Can the 200 Series GC run existing methods from other instruments?

In most cases, yes. The 200 Series runs standard capillary columns and supports established GC methods. If your current method uses a standard column type and operates within the 200 Series temperature and injector specifications, it can typically be transferred across.

There are some practical limits to check. The maximum oven temperature is 300°C, the maximum isothermal temperature is 240°C, and the injector temperature range is 60 to 280°C. Methods that require higher temperatures or specific inlet configurations not available on the 200 Series may not transfer directly.

Column compatibility is broad. The 200 Series accommodates capillary columns up to 7-inch cage diameter and 120 m length (5-inch cage required above 60 m). Packed columns are also supported as an option.

For method transfer, the key things to confirm are: oven temperature range required, injector temperature and split ratio requirements, column dimensions and phase, and detector type. If all four fall within the 200 Series specification, the method should transfer without issue.

If you have an existing method you want to check, send us the method details and we can confirm suitability before you commit to a purchase.
